Mixing and Mastering
Why Should You Choose an Online Mixing and Mastering Services?
It is easier than ever to record, mix, and master your song in your bedroom these days. It's even easier to release the song for the world to hear. However, with so many people on the same playing field now, you must find ways to separate yourself from the pack.
Your songs will sound more precise, louder, warmer, and have the ability to compete with other songs from major artists that were professionally mixed and mastered. Music is supposed to be a collaborative effort.
Having a trained mixing and mastering engineer work on your song can add new creative and sonic differences that you might not have thought of. These changes could be what makes or breaks your song. The technical knowledge that is needed to deliver a professionally mastered song for distribution can take years to learn and understand. Sometimes it's best to hand your song over to someone who knows all the details so you can spend more time on being creative.
What is Mixing and Mastering?
Mixing is when you take all your individual tracks and blend them together using compression, EQ, reverb, delay, and a host of other effects to make it sound like one cohesive piece. This is also the time you would pitch correct and line up vocals. What is the difference between Mixing and Mastering?

This is also the time you would pitch correct and line up vocals. Mastering is the final stage of the song making process.
This is where you add the final sparkle to the mix and make sure it will stand up comparably in quality and loudness to commercially released music.

How do I send my song for mixing?
If you're using Pro Tools, Logic or Studio One you can send the session file. (please include all audio files) The only thing you must do is convert any midi or virtual instrument tracks to audio because I don't always have the same synths or sound banks.
For all other DAW's you have two options: If you have a rough mix that you have been working on and somewhat like, I would rather start mixing where you left off. So, in that case, I ask you send one set of stems "wet" with effects, compression, eq, etc. left on (minus any mix bus limiting) and one set dry with no effects or eq or compression.
(If you have auto-tune or any other pitch plugins you like the sound of, you can leave them on the dry stems as well. If you have a really basic ruff mix, and we are mixing the song from scratch you can just send the stems dry. In both cases just make sure each file starts at bar one and plays to the end of the song. Please include a rough mix in the folder as well.
When ready to send zip the folders and title it with your order name and email. Next pick the package you wish to purchase, and once you have received the confirmation email with the upload link, you can upload your zip file.
NOTE: We have Logic and Garageband at the studio as well, so if you have issues send the stems we can sometimes arrange to export them here.
How do I send my song for mastering?
When sending your two-track mix for mastering, please send as a 24 or 16 bit .WAV file. Turn off all compression, EQ and limiting on the master fader. MP3 files are not acceptable for high quality mastering, and converting them in itunes will not change this. You must bounce or export directly from your mixing software to achieve a true 24bit WAV file. When your ready, make payment and you will receive a link to upload.
When I Mix and Master your song, you are getting a radio-ready product that will compete against anything the major labels put out. With all the time and effort you put into your music, don't shortchange yourself and skip on the most vital step of the recording process.
What is the difference between mixing and mastering?
Mixing is basically tinkering with everything you have recorded to complete your songs. We'll do things like drop in effects, adjust fader, EQ your tracks and so on. Think of mixing as putting the puzzle together. We're putting together the parts of what you have recorded, making sure everything hangs together right and putting some finishing touches on things.
When we're done mixing your songs, you should be pleased with the way the song sounds and feel confident that you don't need to add anything musically.
Mastering is the process of taking a recording and enhancing it to its fullest potential. It's the fine-tuning that makes your track sound as "big" and as "clear" as possible without compromising the original feel of the song.
This also makes the album sound unified. When you send us your audio for mastering services, your tracks will be analyzed by an experienced mastering engineer in one of our acoustically treated mastering studios. After we get an overall impression of the existing sound balance, your project is then professionally mastered using an appropriate chain of top-drawer analog and digital mastering tools.
Why should I have my audio mastered?
Mastering is the final step in bringing your recording to its optimum potential. It gives your music the professional commercial quality necessary to compete nationally and globally. No matter if your audio is planned for radio, CD/cassette duplication, CD Rom/ DVD authoring or publishing to the world wide web, it must be mastered to take full advantage of the media in which it is to be released.
Why does my project need fresh ears?
After working on countless songs and albums, mastering engineers develop an acute sense of sonic and musical knowledge that is key to successful mastering. It is also a huge plus that the mastering engineer wasn't there when you recorded and mixed your album. Hearing your songs for the first time, a fresh pair of ears can offer truly objective advice.
How do I know it will sound better?
You always have input into how your project sounds, and we will do everything we can to make your audio project sound incredible.

What is a ISRC and how do I obtain one?
Please Note: ISRC is NOT required to use our services.
The International Standard Recording Code (ISRC) is an international standard code for uniquely identifying sound recordings and music video recordings.
The code was developed by the recording industry in conjunction with the ISO technical committee 46, subcommittee 9 (TC 46/SC 9), which codified the standard as ISO 3901 in 1986, and updated it in 2001.
An ISRC code identifies a particular recording, not the work (composition and lyrical content) itself. Therefore, different recordings, edits, and remixes of the same work should each have their own ISRC code. Works are identified by ISWC codes. Recordings remastered without significant audio-quality changes should retain their existing ISRC codes, but the threshold is left to the discretion of the record company.
The provision of ISRCs is overseen by appointed national ISRC agencies. These national ISRC agencies issue codes directly to the public and may also utilize authorized ISRC Managers to issue ISRCs. In the United States, the appointed agency is RIAA. ISRC codes can be obtained directly from RIAA for an administrative fee ($80 at time of this publication) or from a commercial ISRC manager.
[4] Only in territories where there is no national ISRC agency does IFPI provide codes to users.
To obtain an ISRC in your country please click this link --> https://isrc.ifpi.org/contact/national-agency-contacts#A
Please Note: ISRC is NOT required to use our services.
